Private Tenant lets you keep data within your own Azure

Introducing Private Tenant for DataMapper

We’re excited to announce a significant update to our product, DataMapper. As you may know, DataMapper has been available only in a multi-tenant setup. Today, we’re releasing exciting news: Private tenant where DataMapper can operate in your own private Azure tenant (also called Single tenant setup).

What is a Private Tenant?

In a multi-tenant setup, multiple customers share the same tenant but with their own ressource groups, which are managed centrally by us. With the introduction of the Private Tenant, customers now have the option to run DataMapper inside the company’s own Azure tenant. This means that all the data will be processed in your own Azure tenant and never leave you, providing you with more control over your data management.

Who is it for?

Private Tenant is designed for organizations that prefer to have their data and resources managed in their own space. This could be due to various reasons such as compliance requirements, organizational policies, or simply a preference for dedicated resources.

Why choose Private Tenant?

Choosing a Private Tenant setup offers several benefits:

  1. Control: With a Private Tenant, you have more control over your resources. You can manage your data and resources according to your organization’s specific needs.
  2. Flexibility: A Private Tenant setup offers more flexibility. You can customize your resource allocation based on your requirements, which can be particularly beneficial for larger organizations or those with specific needs.
  3. Scalability: With your own dedicated resources, you can easily scale up or down based on your needs without affecting or being affected by other tenants.

Please note that while a Private Tenant provides these benefits, both setups has their advantages. it is important to understand your own companies needs and ressources before choosing Private tenant.

How users will benefit

We’re thrilled to offer this new capability and believe it will provide our customers around the world with more options to manage their data effectively no matter what what data center from Azure they want to store DataMapper in. Enhancing Client-Controlled Data Security in DataMapper

In an era where data security and compliance are more crucial than ever, Safe Online is proud to announce a new feature Private Tenant in DataMapper. This feature is a response to the growing need for more client-controlled data security. Private Tenant enables customers to fully utilise DataMapper while ensuring that their data is stored within their own Azure tenant. A key outcome of this feature is the guarantee that customer data remains within their control, never leaving their tenant, thus giving the possibility of using the customer’s own security configuration.

What is private-tenancy?

Tenancy represents a fundamental architectural choice of how an application or service is deployed so a client and a provider can access it. There are 3 different models, each with significant implications for both providers and client.

1. Multi-tenancy involves serving multiple customers from a single instance of the application. Data and processes are logically separated, but underlying infrastructure and code are shared. Resources are pooled and shared among users. However, this can pose challenges in terms of data isolation, security customisation limitations, and the fact that performance issues can affect multiple tenants simultaneously.

2. Single-tenancy model means that each customer has their own instance of the application, completely isolated from other users. The application will still be hosted via the service provider’s infrastructure.

3. Private-tenancy is essentially the same setup as a Single-tenancy model but underlining that this solution will be using the customer’s own Azure tenant. This require the customer to manage security around their own tenant, as well as providing the infrastructure for the instance. Private-tenancy offers maximum control and possibility of tailoring security.

Empowering customers with enhanced compliance and improved cost-efficiency

Private Tenant empowers customers to store and process all their data within their own Azure tenant, no matter where it’s located globally. This ensures that data remains within the customer’s control, adhering to any specific security and compliance regulatory requirements they may have. Additionally, customers gain access to our advanced AI engine (AIM), which is shared among customers. This will not only facilitate cost savings by eliminating the need for separate AI infrastructure but also ensures rapid deployment of updates, as AIM is designed not to store data.

Key advantages

  • Security: Keep data within your own Azure for full security control.
  • Compliance: Adhere to privacy regulations that your company is subject to.
  • Cost-efficiency: Shared AI engine reduces operational costs.
  • Scalability: Tailored to meet specific customer requirements, whether it’s data volume or resource allocation.

Easy deployment in your own Azure tenant

Getting started with DataMapper in your own Azure tenant is straightforward. The process involves:

  1. Company Account Creation: Initiated by Safe Online’s sales operator.
  2. Email Notification: An invitation link for signing up is sent to the customer.
  3. Simplistic Onboarding Flow: Guides the customer through the setup process.
  4. Seamless Integration: Customers can access DataMapper directly through their Azure tenant after completing the sign-up process.
